01 Business details

Proof of address requirements

We require proof of residential address for all sole traders. This can be one of the following:

  • A New Zealand driver licence that displays your current residential address
  • A document from a New Zealand Electoral Office
  • A utility bill — power, gas, water, landline, SKY or internet
  • A New Zealand council rates notice or valuation
  • A document from a NZ bank, bank subsidiary, credit union or lending/deposit institution (excludes financial advisors, brokers, money remitters, and BNZ or BNZ subsidiaries)
  • A document from a NZ insurance company showing a unique policy or reference number (not a quote)
  • A document issued by a New Zealand Government agency
  • A residential rental agreement
  • A document from a NZ superannuation provider with a unique customer/reference number

If a document was sent to an address you don't live at — a PO Box, for example — that's fine, as long as it shows your name and current residential address somewhere in the document.

03 Settlement banking

Daily EFTPOS takings settle into this account, usually next business day.
Settlement details are used only to configure your merchant account and are never charged directly — no funds move until your first live transaction.

By submitting this application you confirm the information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you authorise Eftpos Systems Limited to conduct standard credit and business verification checks in order to assess your application.
